Hit the ball further, move better, reduce niggles and enjoy your golf more.
Golf Fitness Coaching in Oxford
Get Stronger. Move Better. Play Better Golf.
You don’t need a new driver.
You don’t need another YouTube swing tip either (I’ve been down that rabbit hole a few times).
What you actually need is a body that can produce more power, rotate properly, stay balanced through the swing, and still feel human after 18 holes.
At JJ Strength & Fitness, my Fitness for Golf coaching in Oxford is designed to improve strength, mobility and athleticism specifically for golf—so you can hit further, move better, reduce niggles and enjoy your golf more.
Whether you want a golf fitness coach in Oxford, are looking for golf strength and conditioning near you, or flexible online coaching, I’ll help you train in a way that actually transfers to your game.
Golf Fitness Coaching That Actually Improves Your Golf
Golf might not look physically demanding… until you walk 18,000 steps, rotate hundreds of times per round, and realise your back and hips are negotiating with you by the 14th hole.
Nowadays, we don’t just practice technique for golf if we want to be great on the course.
The golfers improving fastest are training their bodies to support better movement and performance.
My golf fitness coaching focuses on improving:
Strength for more powerful, repeatable swings
Mobility for smoother rotation and better positions
Stability and balance throughout the swing
Power production for increased clubhead speed
Conditioning to stay sharp across all 18 holes
Injury resilience and longevity
No gimmicks.
No endless BOSU-ball circus acts.
Just smart training that helps you play better golf.

Expect:
Progressive programming - changed on a weekly/monthly basis
Technique coaching (and immediate feedback if we train 1-1 in person)
Accountability
Regular check-ins
Adjustments based on progress and golf demands
The goal isn’t to become a bodybuilder.
The goal is to have a body that moves better and swings more freely so your golf improves.
Golf Mobility Training and Performance Coaching in Oxford
Mobility matters massively in golf—but mobility without strength doesn’t get you very far.
My coaching programmes develop the movement quality, strength and athleticism needed to actually use that mobility where it matters: on the golf course.
Expect training that helps you:
Rotate more freely
Drive the ball further
Feel more balanced and in control
Feel fit and able to complete 18 holes without feeling knackered
Recover better between games
Being able to touch your toes is nice. But being able to maintain speed and consistency on the 17th hole is better.

Why Fitness for Golf Training Improves Performance
There’s plenty of generic fitness advice online.
Golf fitness should be specific to you and your game.
My coaching combines:
Evidence-based strength training
Real-world coaching experience
Practical programming that fits normal life
Performance and longevity focus
Clear communication without annoying fitness jargon
I won’t tell you to train six days a week (unless that’s what you really want!)
I won’t hand you random exercises without any purpose.
I’ll help you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing and how it helps your golf.
Golf has been part of my life for a lot longer than fitness coaching has.
As a teenager, I was a pretty decent golfer and played off a handicap of 4.5 (which sounds considerably better than rounding it up to 5, so I’m sticking with that).
For whatever reason, golf gradually took a back seat while work, university, travel, and everything else got in the way—and before I knew it, years had passed without playing regularly.
When I picked the game back up as an adult, something became obvious very quickly…
The things that used to feel effortless and natural suddenly weren’t.
Mobility mattered. Strength mattered. Power mattered. Recovering after a round even mattered.
I remember feeling a bit pathetic feeling tired after a round of golf.
That experience reinforced something I now see every day as a coach:
Your body can become either your biggest performance asset… or your biggest limitation.
Today, I combine my background in strength and fitness coaching with my lifelong love of golf to help golfers build strength, improve movement, increase resilience and perform better on the course.
Fitness for Golf Coach - Meet Your Trainer
My golf coaching philosophy is simple:
Train in a way that improves your life—and that improves your golf as a result.
That means no extreme programmes, no punishment workouts, and no trying to train like a 22-year-old tour athlete with unlimited free time.
Instead, we focus on sustainable training that helps you:
Move more freely through the swing
Build usable strength and power
Improve confidence over the ball
Knock out 18 holes without feeling exhausted
Continue enjoying golf for years to come
Whether you’re chasing lower scores, more distance, or simply wanting to stop making excuses for taking the buggy, I’ll help you build a body that gives your golf a better chance.
Results You Can Expect From Golf Fitness Training

My golf clients see great results with 2–3 focused sessions per week alongside their golf.

-
For many golfers, yes. With a good programme, regular support and accountability, online coaching can work extremely well.
